The original song titled “because he lives” remains one of my favorites. The idea that we can face amazing challenges in life “because he lives.” This new song takes that idea and continues to expand it. I love this song and It has been a great joy singing it with this church!

The cross of Jesus has become a symbol of Christianity but without the empty tomb of Jesus, our hope is lost. It is the resurrection of Christ that proves that God concord sin and death. He also creates a way for us to raise to life again. Watch Ryan’s sermon from easter to explore this idea some more.

A few thoughts on the words of this song:

“Let my song join the one that never ends!” This line is very significant. When you become a worshiper of Jesus you are joining a worship service that has been going on since the beginning of time and will forever continue. You are joining a song sung by the stars and all of creation. People who don’t worship God are NOT the majority, they are actually the only ones not in alignment with the universe. I love this line and I love singing it with my church and I think we will be singing it together forever.

Lyrics

I believe in the Son
I believe in the risen One
I believe I overcome
By the power of His blood

Amen, Amen
I’m alive, I’m alive
Because He lives
Amen, Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends
Because He lives

I was dead in the grave
I was covered in sin and shame
I heard mercy call my name
He rolled the stone away

Because He lives
I can face tomorrow
Because He lives
Every fear is gone
I know He holds my life my future in His hands
