Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. - Luke 18:16-17
Fall Calendar:
Hay Ride date to be announced
Fall Festival October 31
Sundays - Early Childhood: We want our young children to have an understanding of God's love, an early foundation in His Word and a delight in His creation. Nursery and Preschool programs are offered on Sunday mornings, staffed by screened volunteers. Visit our large, colorful rooms to see the fun and learning that occurs!
Sundays - Kids of the Kingdom: God's Word comes alive through the Bible stories, drama, games, and crafts for school age children, Kindergarten through 5 th Grade. Opportunities for sharing our faith and serving others are an important part of what we do. Children meet every Sunday from 9:00-10:00 AM , attend 10:30 AM worship with parents, then return to the Christian Education Wing during the sermon.
South's Kids of the Kingdom experience teaches Bible Stories and concepts through child friendly multi dimensional learning environments (called workshops) such as art, drama, games, maps and missions, cooking, science, music, and storytelling. Each week (for 4-6 weeks), the children will rotate to a different workshop to learn and experience the Bible Story in a different way.
Children learn the “story” via all their senses – not just sitting and listening, reading, doing paperwork. They experience the story in multiple authentic learning environments. Children who are more fully engaged in each learning environment want to come back because they have other rooms to explore in weeks to come. Adult volunteers teach in the areas of their giftedness. Children can feel their enthusiasm.
