A Welcoming Family
The context of our ministry is community. We are called to be a family: an inter-generational community of faith, connected to one another on more than Sundays. This means that relationships are key, and that people from all ages, backgrounds, and places in life are welcome. We will consciously value all parts of the family, including children, youth, young adults, singles, and elders.
A World-Connecting Place
The purpose of our ministry is mission. We are called to be a place of reconciliation for the world. We believe that every member is a missionary, and that “missions” is a life-style. This means that we evaluate our culture, our neighborhoods, and our world for ways to connect, so that we might gently offer God’s love and grace through Jesus. We deliberately choose people over programs. We act more as a community center than as a country club where we are members. We create places and times to meet, serve, and work with the community, and are committed to sharing our facilities, our lives, and our Lord.
A Training Center
The focus of our ministry is people. We are called to equip each other. At South, every person, from crib to rocking chair, is to be prepared for the ministry God calls them to. We see this training as life-driven and connection based, versus mainly curriculum-driven and classroom based. This means we value teaching, preaching, spiritual formation, mentoring, small group interactions, and long-term relationships. We know we don’t have all the answers. We are
committed to being humble yet diligent students of the Bible, to the end that we live – “24/7/365” -- an authentic, Biblical faith.
A Worshipping Place
We are called to be a place of worship, where intimacy with God can be found. We draw from and remain rooted in our ancient Christian past while allowing a wide-ranging convergence of worship expressions. Worship to us is a kind of “family gathering meal” where everyone is important and all are considered when the “right food” is selected.
A Home-base for Ministry
From our inception, we have been called by God to be a ministry center. To describe this, we use words like a runway, a greenhouse, a launching pad, a shipping port, and a lighthouse. This means we operate as an attracting, gathering, provisioning, and training place from which Christians involved in God’s ministry can reach out in love to others. As we do this, we are more concerned about "kingdom" growth than church growth. This means that we work alongside many ministries, and we don't care who gets the credit.
A Refuge and Sanctuary
We see the church as a people, not a building. We desire that our facilities be warm and inviting, functioning as a tool for both relationships and spiritual intimacy. We are a missionary outpost, a place where people can gather to better focus their attention on God. We are committed to a facility which blends welcome with simplicity and reverence, a place where people can recover and refocus . We are “a grace place” --where they can learn to ask, listen, wait, and obey Jesus.
Our Purposes
Dependence
“The Source of our ministry is God.” Jesus is the Head (Leader, Master, CEO, Chief-Shepherd, Head Coach, etc.) of this church. We are blessed to work for Him in this “family business.” We are actively seeking to be dependent on Him, because we need Him to accomplish anything valuable.
Prayer
We start every decision process by going to Jesus (through prayer and Bible study) and asking Him for guidance. He sets the standard and is the plum line for our actions. After asking, we then do the hard work of listening for His words, waiting on His timing, and obeying His directions.
Submission
“Leaders are shepherds and disciplers.” Under Jesus, we share leadership, always seeking to love, serve, and equip each other and this church. We see
ourselves first as friends, servants, and protectors. We strive for unity and consensus, and value others before ourselves. We believe the Holy Spirit leads
us to unity in our call to action as we are submitted to Jesus Christ.
Obedience
We believe Jesus has several specific goals for every Christian and for His church at South. Our job is not to create the church’s vision, but to - humbly, as best we are able -- listen to discern Christ’s goals and follow that vision. We prepare for the future primarily through prayer, obedience, relationships and spiritual development.

Where Do I Begin?
It Begins With Jesus Christ!
South Fellowship Church exists to help you live your life in the way that will please and honor God. It is to live in relationship with the living Jesus.

We must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation.

The Bible says ...
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that  God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

Where are you? Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?
Here is how you can receive Christ:
1. Admit your need (I am a sinner).
2. Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Him as Lord and Savior.)
How to Pray:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness.
I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite
You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord
and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen.
